The Mosquito and I

Skeeter, you buzzed around
Like a single air raid,
Choosing me your target.
By then to you I said,
“Oh, you’re useless to me!”

Motionless, I watched you
Alight on my right arm.
I just observed you there
While thinking of no harm
Although you’d bitten me.

You’re too lucky, skeeter,
For I’m useful to you
Though you’re worthless to me;
It’s time I’ll try to know
Why you have been created.

Thousand times I’ve asked why,
But all my questions die.
